Using elou

How do I log a day?

Under “How was today?”, tap Good, Okay or Bad. Add a note if you like, then tap Save. The note is optional.

Can I fill in a day I missed?

Yes. Tap that day's empty square in the year ribbon. Days that haven't happened yet can't be logged.

How do I change an entry?

Tap the day in the ribbon or under Lately, then tap Edit entry. You can pick a different mood, rewrite the note, or both.

What do the squares mean?
  • Good
  • Okay
  • Bad
  • Today
  • A day still to come

An outlined square is a past day with no entry. Tap it to fill it in.

How do I see earlier years?

Swipe the ribbon sideways. It starts at the first year you logged and runs to this year. The count under it shows how many days you've logged in the year on screen.

Your entries

Where are my entries kept?

Only on your iPhone. elou has no account and never goes online, so your entries aren't sent anywhere. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I move my entries to a new iPhone?

Your entries are part of your iPhone backup. Set up the new phone from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one, and they'll be there when you open elou.

Does elou sync with iPad or other devices?

No. elou is iPhone only, and entries stay on the phone where you logged them.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the app. This removes all of your entries from the phone. Older backups keep their copies until they're replaced.

I see “Your entries couldn't be opened.”

elou couldn't read your saved entries. This can happen while your phone is still locked. Unlock it, then return to the app.

Your entries aren't changed or overwritten while this message shows. If it doesn't go away, email us.

I see “Your note couldn't be saved.”

Your note stays open in the sheet, so nothing is lost. Try Save again. If it keeps failing, check that your iPhone has free storage space.
